SUMMARY:San Diego River Mouth Habitat Restoration
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a hands-on volunteer opportunity to explore the San Diego River Estuary and support the restoration of this sensitive and vital habitat. Volunteers will help remove invasive plants\, improving conditions for native wildlife and pollinators\, enhancing water quality\, reducing erosion\, and protecting endangered species such as the California Least Tern. Your efforts will help create a healthier\, more accessible natural space for the entire community. \nThis is a rewarding opportunity to get outside\, try out field work\, connect with fellow nature lovers\, and make a meaningful impact on a fragile ecosystem.  Tools will be provided; you’re welcome to bring your own gloves or safety glasses. \nPlease Note:The meeting location is near the listed address. We will gather at the small grassy area between the main parking lot\, the San Diego River Bikeway\, and the Ocean Villa Inn. \nHere are a few tips to help you prepare for the event: \n\nAttire: Long Pants and closed-toe shoes are required\nItems to Bring: Reusable water bottle\, hat\, other forms of sun protection\nWeather: Light rain will not cancel the event\nFor safety reasons\, no pets are allowed at this event\nThere are no restroom facilities at this location.\nNo experience necessary!\nFamily friendly with parental supervision!

SUMMARY:OB Estuary Restoration & Nature Walk
DESCRIPTION:Looking for a fun beautification project to impact your local community? Look no further\, as our lovely River Mouth at the river estuary is always blooming with projects (and unfortunately this time of year\, invasive plants)! Join the San Diego River Park Foundation’s Garden Club and staff to help maintain the trails within the river mouth habitat. Activities may include weeding\, light path maintenance\, as well as volunteer education to get the community trained on the incredible native plants the River Mouth has to offer and the non-native plants that threaten them. We will also offer tours of the dunes after the work session is over.  \nAdditional Notes: \nPlease arrive by 8:45 am to allow for parking and check-in\nAll supplies will be provided\nPlease wear closed-toe shoes\, long pants\, and a hat\nMeet on the grass between the parking lot and the river bikeway\nNo experience required\nFamily friendly!
