DESCRIPTION:Looking for a hands-on volunteer opportunity that supports a healthy river and connects you with like-minded people? Join our core volunteer team for a San Diego River clean-up and help remove trash that threatens wildlife\, water quality\, and public spaces. Each year\, volunteers remove more than 200\,000 pounds of trash from the River—work that directly prevents pollution from reaching our ocean and beaches. \nIf you don’t mind getting a little dirty and enjoy active outdoor work\, this is a rewarding way to make a visible impact while spending time outside. \nPark + Meet:  Park in empty spots just south of Tesla Parking Station at Fashion Valley Mall. Address for the mall is 7007 Friars Rd\, San Diego\, CA 92108. Drive to the Southeast side of the mall parking lot off of Hazard Center Drive.  \n\nGoogle: Fashion Valley Mall Meeting Location\nApple: Fashion Valley Mall Meeting Location\n\n \nREGISTER HERE: \nWhat to Know Before You Go: \n\nPlease arrive by 8:45 am to allow time for check-in and parking.\nWear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty; long pants are required and long sleeves are recommended.\nClosed-toe\, sturdy shoes (tennis or hiking shoes) are required.\nBring a reusable water bottle to help reduce single-use plastics.\nLight rain will not cancel the event.All tools and supplies will be provided.\nWe will provide all tools and supplies for you to use.\nCommunity service hours can be verified.\nFor safety reasons\, no pets are allowed.\nThere are no restroom facilities at this location—please plan accordingly.\n\n \n
