Volcan Mountain Family Discovery Day

May 18 at 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Free

Bring the family out to VMF’s Volcan Mountain Nature Center for a day of nature exploration, fun activities and short hikes–for kids of all ages! Discover the verdant conifer and oak forests and abundant springs, creeks and headwaters of Volcan Mountain that feed vital rivers and watersheds of San Diego County. At the 3D Watershed Relief Map, you can create a rain storm and learn about the importance of healthy watersheds and how they work!

Multiple walks will be offered, ranging from easy to moderate in difficulty and up to 1 1/4 miles round-trip.

Come prepared to explore! Wear walking shoes, bring water and snacks/lunch. Weather on Volcan Mountain can be unpredictable all your round. Sometimes it can be quite warm in May and sometimes it can be chilly. Check the weather before coming up and dress in layers. Visit www.VolcanMt.org for updates and further details.

This event is suitable for all ages.
