Kids Adventure Hike at Louis A. Stelzer County Park

May 17 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

Free

County of San Diego Department of Parks and Recreation Events

Meet at the Ranger Station at 8:00 a.m.

Get ready for an unforgettable outdoor adventure for curious and courageous kids! Join us on a special off-trail hike through rugged terrain, where our Park Rangers will guide you into nature’s secret paths. This isn’t your typical trail walk — we’ll be exploring hidden spots, discovering animal tracks, learning cool tips, and maybe even spotting some critters! We will learn about snake safety, trail etiquette, how to identify and avoid poison oak, and how to move safely through brush and not get lost.

The event runs from 8am until we’re done or noon, whichever comes first, to avoid the heat. Bring a water bottle and sturdy shoes, along with a hat, pants, and long sleeves for protection. A walking stick or trekking poles are recommended. All ages are welcome.

Come celebrate Kids to Parks Day: https://parktrust.org/kids-to-parks-day/ and San Diego River Days: https://sdriverdays.org/

For questions, call 858-699-8668.

This is an open, public event and no RSVP is required, but we still would like to know if you plan to attend:
