DESCRIPTION:Presented by the San Diego River Park Foundation \nPlease join local bird experts in the heart of Mission Valley at the River Center at Grant Park to observe and count the birds that call this section of the river home! Come see nature’s biodiversity and beauty while getting a sneak peek of Grant Park’s progress as we build a unique youth education center to steward a new generation of nature advocates. \nFind other guided bird watching event dates HERE! \nHere are a few tips to help you prepare for the event: \n\nYou can park in the round-about at Grant Park or take the trolley to the Rio Vista station\nBring your own binoculars if you have them\, and we usually have some to loan out\nItems to Bring: Hat\, other forms of sun protection\, study shoes\nKids are welcome\, with adult supervision.

DESCRIPTION:This a great opportunity to come learn about this vital program that monitors the health of the San Diego River year-round. These trends inform the management of the River\, and the RiverWatch teams can also serve as an early alert system for emerging issues. You can help contribute to this important effort (no experience necessary!)\, and we hope you’ll enjoy the experience and join again in the future! \nThis small but mighty team collects samples at 9 different locations in East County and the West Team goes to 7 locations in San Diego\, led by our very amazing volunteer leaders. The team drives between locations\, and there is a short walk/hike from the cars to the sampling locations at each site. If you are over 18 and vaccinated\, carpooling options may be available\, or you can caravan in your own car. \nAdditional Notes: \nIf you sign up here\, please do NOT sign up on the San Diego River Park Foundations Event calendar! \nRSVPs are required so we can be sure to have the right number of volunteers. You will receive additional information about the event once you RSVP. \nPlease note this is a 12-year and up event. \nPlease wear sturdy shoes\, sun protection is recommended. \nPlease bring any water and snacks you may need for this 4-hour event! \nThis event is for the East County team and will meet at the lower dirt parking lot at Mast Park: 9125 Carlton Hills Blvd\, Santee\, CA 92071.  \nLook for us at the lower dirt lot! \n \n
