SUMMARY:River Rescue Trash Cleanup
DESCRIPTION:Join the dynamic River Rescue Team\,  a group of volunteers dedicated to removing trash by the ton!  You will help remove trash and debris from the riverbed to prevent harm to water and wildlife. This event is social\, impactful\, and flexible so whether you want to focus on small plastics or getting a workout hauling large items\, there is a perfect spot for you to make an impact for the river! \nMost River Rescue volunteers are “regulars” who join us on a frequent basis\, but we welcome newcomers or volunteers curious about getting involved!  In honor of River Days\, this River Rescue will be perfect for beginners looking to learn more.  There is no long-term commitment to join this event.  At these events\, volunteers should expect to get dirty\, get a bit of a workout\, occasionally trek through terrain\, and work with an amazing group of people! \nTips:  \n\nPlease arrive at 8:45 am to get checked in. Our group will leave the meeting area roughly 5 minutes after the event starts to go to the project site.\nBe sure to dress in clothes that can get a little dirty\n\nLong pants are REQUIRED. A hat\, sunscreen\, or any other types of sun protection are also recommended for all of our outdoor events.\nClosed-toe shoes are also required. No sandals\, Tom’s or other flats. You must wear sturdy tennis or hiking shoes.\n\n\nWe will provide all tools and supplies for you to use.\nIn order to cut down on single-use plastics\, we request all volunteers bring their own reusable water bottle.\nYou may wish to bring a light snack.\nYou must be 18 years or older to participate.\nA liability waiver is required for all volunteers and will be provided at the event.\nPlease note that light rain will not cancel this event.
