As a designated California Marine Conservation Area\, Famosa Slough is a vital habitat estuarine teeming with life! Your efforts will help protect native vegetation\, reduce fire and flood risks\, and boost the health of this ecological hotspot.  \n All levels of skills and families are welcome.  Bring a water bottle\, sunscreen\, and work clothes.  We provide water and sunscreen on-site as well. \nA quick tip: if you install the iNaturalist app on your phone before the event\, you can use it to identify plants or animals that you find interesting!\n \n\nFamily Friendly (ages 12 and above)\nPark on either side of West Point Loma Boulevard.\nMeet along W. DESCRIPTION:Presented by: I Love a Clean San Diego and and the Lakeside’s River Park Conservancy \nI Love A Clean San Diego and the Lakeside River Park Conservancy will be hosting a 2 hour long litter\ncleanup in Lakeside- Cactus County Park. Volunteers will be joining staff in removing litter from the park\nand surrounding area before the litter ends up in the Pacific Ocean. Event begins with a short orientation\nand safety talk before they are sent off with their supplies for the cleanup. Upon their return\, staff will sort\nand dispose of the collected litter. \nClick here to learn more about I Love A Clean San Diego. \nREGISTER HERE \nLocation:\nCactus Park in Lakeside\, 10610 Ashwood St\, Lakeside\, CA 92040 \nAdditional Notes: \nThis site is not suitable for children\, pets\, and anyone that would have a difficult time on uneven ground. \nBe sure to wear comfortable clothes\, closed-toed shoes\, some form of sun protection (sunscreen or a hat)\, and bring a water bottle or two! Staff will be providing everything else you will need! After a short orientation and safety talk you will be sent off to remove litter around the area! Staff will sort and dispose of the collected litter and after the cleanup\, you can request community service verification on your Community Hub dashboard. \nWAIVERS: This event requires a signed release-of-liability waiver for all volunteers\, and anyone under 18 needs a waiver signed by a guardian.
