If you are over 18 and vaccinated\, carpooling options may be available\, or you can caravan in your own car. \nAdditional Notes: \nRSVPs are required so we can be sure to have the right number of volunteers. DESCRIPTION:*EVENT FULL* \nThis is an ongoing volunteer event run by the City of San Diego Open Space Division Rangers. This event was designed for volunteers to address some of the most pressing needs in the San Diego River Park. Locations and tasks vary from week to week\, although\, activities may include invasive plant & trash removal\, watering\, trail maintenance\, and other special projects to help preserve and enhance the San Diego River Watershed! Intended for individuals looking to find a long-term volunteer opportunity. \nAdditional Notes: \nAll volunteers must be at least 18 years old and complete all required Better Impact forms and trainings before volunteering. \nVolunteers can expect a physically demanding morning\, consisting of long hikes on uneven/steep/wet terrain and heavy lifting in direct sunlight. \nThis opportunity is not open for community service verification. \nProject-specific tools will be provided\, but volunteers are required to bring their own work gloves. \n*NO BATHROOMS ON-SITE* \nAdditional Project Information: The event begins promptly at 9 am. Join the San Diego River Park Foundation’s Garden Club and staff to help maintain the trails within the river mouth habitat. DESCRIPTION:The San Diego River Mouth is home to an abundance of native resident and migratory species who depend on the threatened habitats to rest\, forage and live out their life cycles.\nJoin the San Diego Bird Alliance and SDRPF to help restore this area by removing invasive plants that reduce the integrity of viable habitat for endangered species. Members of the SDRPF Education Department will be on hand to speak about the estuary and its importance to local birds and endangered wildlife\, including the California Least Tern.\nWe will be hand pulling weeds\, removing trash and repairing any broken sections of fencing. Help us celebrate San Diego River Days by protecting the San Diego River. Volunteers will be working on San Diego River property in Lakeside\, CA to prevent trash and debris from entering sensitive habitat. ILACSD staff will be providing volunteers with an education/safety talk and then handing out supplies for volunteers to pickup trash. Volunteers will be joining staff in removing litter from the park\nand surrounding area before the litter ends up in the Pacific Ocean. Event begins with a short orientation\nand safety talk before they are sent off with their supplies for the cleanup.
