Add your artistic touch and help create a beautiful\, welcoming space where thousands of students\, residents\, and visitors will begin their journey exploring the San Diego River. \nNo supplies or experience are necessary and leaders will be on hand to help lead the art project.  We would love for you to join us! We need many volunteers so invite your friends and family! All ages welcome! SUMMARY:River Days and Nature Nights: Build a Big Brown Bat Buddy
DESCRIPTION:Join the San Diego River Park Foundation for a creative\, hands-on workshop at Grant Park. During this needle-felting workshop\, you’ll create your own felted bat to take home while learning fun facts about Big Brown Bats and their vital role in keeping our river ecosystem healthy. \nNeedle Felting Workshop (Ages 8+)This workshop is recommended for children who enjoy crafts\, can follow instructions\, stay engaged\, and have the patience to complete a structured project. \nSafety Notes: \n\nChildren under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.\nParticipants should be comfortable following instructions and working carefully.\nIf a child is unable to safely participate\, an adult may be asked to escort them out.\n\nCost:A $10+ donation toward supplies is greatly appreciated. \nREGISTER HERE: \nMake it a fun evening of art and nature at Grant Park: View beautiful river-themed art at the Artist Reception for the San Diego River Artists Alliance from 5 pm – 7 pm and as you enjoy an art and craft activity at the River Days and Nature Nights Build a Big Brown Bat Buddy conducted by the SDRPF’s Education Team from 3 pm- 5:30 pm. RSVP’s are needed for the art and craft activity – sign up here. Then observe real live bats on an adventurous bat walk along the San Diego River by signing up for the River Days and Nature Nights Bat and Moth event from 7 pm – 9 pm.
